Position Title: Production Operator

Position Overview:

The Production Operator will support the growth of the organization by converting raw material into finished products designed to client specifications. We offer comprehensive training a welcoming team environment and long-term growth opportunities. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrates & meets qualifications on blending, packaging, weighing operations & forklift.
  • Demonstrates teamwork in all phases of operation.
  • Sets up and starts all machines, checking all controls for adherence to mixing or packaging procedures.
  • Weighs ingredients to meet recipe specifications and inserts into machinery.
  • Monitors production and equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation. Troubleshoots equipment and processing issues.
  • Operates machinery to mix, discharge or handle materials according to operating procedures.
  • Examines materials visually or physically to ensure conformance with established standards.
  • May take samples of materials to lab for evaluations and instructions.
  • Refers issues/problems to lead/supervisor for disposition.
  • Performs all required machine cleaning
  • Completes and maintains all required computer inputs. Responsible for data integrity.
  • Documents work completed as required including logs, data reports, procedures, etc.
  • Participates in training, retraining and continual improvement processes and methods.
  • Maintains departmental housekeeping standards.
  • Supports the vision, mission and guiding principles of the company.
  • Follows all rules, laws and procedures related to HS&E, ISO and other regulations.
  • Must be able to work 8-12hours of rotating shifts including nights and weekends.
  • Other projects/duties as assigned or needed.

Required Education, Length, & Type of Experience:

  • US High School diploma or GED equivalency
  • Six (6) months to one (1) year of industrial experience

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Must be able to read/comprehend written and oral instructions in English; read and comprehend safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and product recipes/materials.
  • Must have the mathematical skills to add, subtract, multiply and divide and apply these skills to weights, measures of volume and distance.
  • Competency in computer and PC software including email, internet, and MS office.
  • Must have manual dexterity for hand tools of various types.

  • Requires the use of safety equipment as dictated by the work area such as safety glasses and shoes, dust mask, hard hat, respirator, face shield, hearing protection, chemical suit, gloves, aprons, etc.
  • Regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, dust, fumes, airborne particles, chemical dust, risk of electric shock, vibration, non-hazardous chemical agents, to moving mechanical parts, and outside weather conditions.
  • Occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock.
