The Business Operations Director - Finance role sits within the GA Telesis Flight Solutions Group, one of the worldโ€™s largest ready-to-go used and new aircraft, engine, APU and consumable parts inventory businesses in the aviation industry, and reports to the President of the Flight Solutions Group and is dotted-line to the corporate finance team.
This finance leader serves as the primary strategic finance partner to the Flight Solutions Group President.ย  This leader is responsible for driving optimal financial performance, operational rigor, and disciplined decision-making across all products and global regions in the Flight Solutions Group.

Responsibilities:
Strategic Financial Leadership
  • Develop and execute financial strategies that support growth, margin discipline, and operational excellence in the Used Serviceable Material (โ€œUSMโ€) business as well as provide insights and recommended solutions into trailing business performance metrics.
  • Align financial planning and long-range goals of the business with the Corporate CFO, FSG President, FSG Chief Revenue Officer and the FSG Chief Operating Officer.
  • Drive disciplined and thoughtful financial assessment of investment opportunities in aircraft/engine teardown programs and other USM acquisitions or new parts distributions in coordination with the FSG executive leadership team and corporate risk and return objectives
  • Analyze market trends, and industry cycles for predictive impact on the business.
Leadership & Organizational Development (move the entire section under FP&A when we are done wordsmithing.
  • Develop and mentor a high-performing finance team capable of supporting a fast-growing global business by establishing frameworks, including KPIs and feedback processes, to enhance individual and team effectiveness.
  • Develop leadership initiatives as it relates to business and financial rigor by coaching directors and managers to strengthen business acumen, communication and cross-functional influence.

Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
  • Lead the annual business unit budget process, quarterly forecasts, long range forecasts and ongoing variance analysis.
  • Guide pricing and profitability analysis in coordination with RADE team, and executive leaders which includes modeling of fixed, semi-fixed and variable costs, depreciation, and capital efficiency.
  • Develop deep understanding of current financial reporting, revenue recognition, cost allocations and related cash flow and balance sheet items.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive financial scenario models to evaluate business performance under varying assumptions, conducting sensitivity analysis to assess risk, key drivers, and support strategic decision-making.
  • Maintain and enhance real-time financial visibility to maximize ROI on material investment and reduce write-offs or obsolescence.
  • Partner with supply chain, commercial, procurement, operations, and sales teams to maximize ROI on material
Accounting, Compliance & Risk Management
  • Ensure the business unitโ€™s financial records and reporting adhere to GAAP and relevant aviation regulation and any other compliance requirement.
  • Identify financial and operational risks and implement mitigation strategies related to asset acquisition, inventory valuations, and resale.
  • Establish and maintain robust financial processes, reporting frameworks and internal controls to ensure accurate, complete, and timely financial information.
  • Foster strong partnerships with corporate finance teams and cross-functional stakeholders.

Requirements
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in finance, Business, Accounting, or related field required with 10+ years of experience
  • MBA, CPA, or equivalent advanced credentials strongly preferred.
  • Exceptional FP&A, financial modeling, and valuation capabilities.
  • Self-starter, ambitious, intellectually curious and confident
  • Excel power user
  • Demonstrated deep understanding of investment analytics and measurement of returns, MOIC and the impact of the use of leverage
  • Strong ability to influence cross-functional decisions.
  • Proven success in high-growth, operationally complex global environments (aviation, aerospace, supply chain, or asset-heavy industries preferred).
  • Deep understanding of complex accounting principles
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to convey financial insights clearly and with authority.
  • Strong leadership, coaching and change management capabilities across global teams.
