Position Summary

The HR & Administrative Support position serves as the operational backbone of the HR department and a highly visible first point of contact for employees. This role provides higher-level administrative coordination, HRIS data entry and routine administration, document management, employee engagement support, community outreach coordination, benefits communications, training scheduling, and front-line employee assistance. The position supports a positive employee experience while helping build the HR function from the bottom up.

Essential ResponsibilitiesHigher-Level Administrative Support
  • Provide administrative coordination for the HR department and HR leadership.
  • Coordinate meetings, calendars, communications, department materials, and special project logistics.
  • Support HR planning, tracking, follow-up, and organization of department priorities.
  • Maintain department records, templates, forms, and administrative processes.
HRIS Data Entry, Routine Administration and Records
  • Perform HRIS data entry and routine system administration under appropriate oversight.
  • Maintain employee records, personnel file documentation, and electronic files.
  • Support employee file digitization, document management, and retention efforts.
  • Update employee information, position records, organizational data, and standard HRIS fields as assigned.
  • Assist employees with HRIS navigation, employee self-service, forms, and basic system questions.
Employee Engagement, EVP and Community Relations
  • Coordinate employee engagement activities, recognition programs, and employee events.
  • Support Employee Value Proposition initiatives and employee-facing communications.
  • Coordinate community outreach activities, veteran programs, local workforce events, and company presence in the community.
  • Manage swag, branded merchandise, event materials, and employee appreciation items.
Benefits Communication and Employee Support
  • Support benefits education campaigns, employee communications, and benefits awareness materials.
  • Assist employees with general benefits navigation and route technical questions to the Payroll, Benefits & Compliance Specialist.
  • Support open enrollment logistics, meeting coordination, employee outreach, and form completion as assigned.
Training and Development Scheduling
  • Coordinate training schedules, logistics, sign-in sheets, communications, and completion tracking.
  • Support development programs, employee workshops, and required HR training administration.

  • Participate in HR projects and help build sustainable HR processes, SOPs, and employee support tools.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate degree preferred or equivalent administrative, HR, or office support experience.
  • 1-3 years of administrative support, HR support, accounting support, or office coordination experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, confidentiality, and customer service orientation.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to learn HRIS and employee systems.
  • Comfortable providing face-to-face support to employees in an operational mining environment.
