Job description

The Operations Manager is responsible for leading all daily operations of the DRX Product Line, ensuring safe, efficient, high-quality, and cost-effective production. This role oversees production, safety, quality, maintenance, shipping, staffing, budgeting, and continuous improvement while supporting company goals, customer requirements, and regulatory compliance. This position reports to the Director of Operations, and directly supervises production team leaders, assembly operators, production planner, machine shop personnel, and other operations employees.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
Operational Leadership:
  • Lead day-to-day manufacturing operations to meet safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity goals.
  • Review operational metrics and reports to identify trends, root causes, risks, and corrective actions.
  • Monitor production schedules, labor utilization, material availability, equipment performance, and shipment commitments.
  • Maintain accurate documentation related to production, safety, quality, training, corrective actions, and compliance.
  • Ensure all employees follow company safety policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, and housekeeping standards.
  • Develop, coach, and hold employees accountable for performance, attendance, training, work standards, and professional conduct.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, employee engagement, customer focus, and operational excellence.
  • Support inventory accuracy, material flow, cycle counting, receiving, shipping, and warehouse organization.
  • Coordinate with maintenance to minimize downtime, support preventive maintenance, and resolve equipment issues.
  • Partner with quality, engineering, supply chain, customer service, finance, and sales teams to resolve issues and support customer requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste, improve throughput, strengthen quality, and increase operational efficiency.
  • Participate in budgeting, staffing plans, capital planning, cost control, and resource allocation.

Qualifications:
  • Degree in Operations Management, Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred; equivalent manufacturing leadership experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive leadership experience in a manufacturing, production, or industrial environment.
  • Experience leading hourly employees, and cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated experience managing safety, quality, production performance, budgets, staffing, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA, environmental, quality, and workplace safety requirements.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with ERP systems preferred.

Physical Demands:
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment and spend time on the production floor as needed.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the facility during the workday.
  • Must be able to use standard office equipment and manufacturing systems.
  • May be required to work extended hours or adjust schedule based on business needs, production requirements, or customer commitments.
