Job description

Position Summary: The Field Operations Manager is responsible for leading and developing field personnel while ensuring safe, efficient, and successful project execution. This role oversees workforce planning, employee development, safety compliance, and daily field operations while supporting Barnhart's commitment to servant leadership and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit, hire, train, and develop field employees.
  • Lead and support field teams through coaching, mentoring, and performance management.
  • Promote and enforce safety policies, procedures, and industry best practices.
  • Assist with workforce planning, scheduling, and daily dispatching activities.
  • Support project execution by coordinating manpower and field resources.
  • Conduct job site visits to provide operational support and ensure safety compliance.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Travel as needed to support operations and field personnel.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of crane, rigging, heavy lift, or related industry experience.
  • 3-5 years of leadership, superintendent, or management experience.
  • Strong understanding of crane operations, rigging practices, and safe work procedures.
  • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop teams.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Qualified to operate cranes of various sizes preferred.
  • Commitment to Barnhart's servant leadership culture.
  • Must pass a drug screen, Fit-for-Duty evaluation, and background check.
