Job description

At RX Medical, we play a critical role in supporting surgeons and healthcare facilities by ensuring orthopedic implants and surgical instrumentation are available when and where they are needed. Every delivery we make directly impacts patient care and surgical outcomes.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Transportation & Driver Supervisor โ€“ Medical Logistics to lead our delivery and transportation team. This handsโ€‘on leadership role is responsible for overseeing daily logistics operations, managing driver performance, optimizing delivery execution, and ensuring exceptional service to our customers and healthcare partners.

The ideal candidate is a strong people leader who thrives in a fastโ€‘paced environment, enjoys solving operational challenges, and is passionate about building highโ€‘performing teams.

What You'll Do:Leadership & Team Development
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of drivers responsible for supporting surgical case logistics.
  • Train new team members.
  • Conduct performance reviews, rideโ€‘alongs, coaching sessions, and ongoing development conversations.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, safety, and customer service excellence.
  • Manage scheduling, PTO requests, and staffing coverage to ensure operational continuity.
Delivery & Logistics Operations
  • Oversee daily delivery and pickup operations to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and onโ€‘time performance.
  • Monitor realโ€‘time logistics activity and proactively resolve operational challenges.
  • Ensure all deliveries meet customer, hospital, and company service expectations.
  • Lead from the front by supporting delivery operations when business needs require.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance service levels and operational efficiency.
Scheduling, Routing & Resource Management
  • Develop and manage driver schedules, route assignments, and workload distribution.
  • Optimize routing and resource allocation to maximize efficiency and responsiveness.
  • Monitor fleet utilization, mileage, fuel usage, and vehicle maintenance needs.
  • Identify opportunities to improve productivity while maintaining exceptional service standards.
Asset & Inventory Accountability
  • Ensure timely pickup and return of inventory and equipment deployed in the field.
  • Monitor inventory accountability metrics and proactively address exceptions.
  • Partner with warehouse and sourcing teams to investigate discrepancies and maintain inventory integrity.
  • Develop processes that improve asset visibility and reduce unnecessary inventory exposure.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with warehouse, sourcing, and operations leadership teams to support successful case execution.
  • Communicate proactively regarding delivery priorities, scheduling challenges, and resource needs.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between delivery operations and warehouse functions.
  • Contribute to operational planning and process improvement initiatives.
Compliance, Safety & Quality
  • Ensure adherence to all company policies, safety standards, and applicable regulations.
  • Promote safe driving practices and maintain compliance with driver training requirements.
  • Monitor quality standards related to the handling and transportation of medical devices and surgical equipment.
  • Support audits, inspections, and ongoing compliance initiatives.
  • Ensure reports remain up to date with hospital credentials.
QualificationsRequired
  • 3+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, warehouse operations, delivery services, healthcare logistics, or a related field.
  • Previous leadership, supervisory, or team lead experience.
  • Strong understanding of routing, scheduling, transportation, and delivery operations.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problemโ€‘solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fastโ€‘paced, customerโ€‘focused environment.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to lift and move inventory as needed.
Preferred
  • Experience leading delivery, transportation, warehouse, or field logistics teams.
  • Experience working within healthcare, medical device, pharmaceutical, or highly regulated industries.
  • Familiarity with fleet management, route optimization, and performance metrics.
  • Experience using transportation, logistics, or warehouse management systems.
