Job description

Build Your Career at Milestone Contractors! The Plant Loader Operator operates wheel loader for daily operations in concrete plant and/or gravel pit on an as needed basis to manufacture concrete and aggregate products in accordance with cost, quality and quantity specifications.

Essential Functions
  • Assists in concrete and aggregate production
  • Monitors and sorts incoming aggregates
  • Operates wheel loader
  • Performs preventive maintenance
  • Performs other duties assigned by Plant Manager
  • Communicates effectively
  • Advises plant operator of problems, potential problems, or schedule difficulties
  • Collaborates with co-workers and other employees
  • Promotes and maintains safe work environment
  • Exhibits safe work behaviors; evaluates work area for hazards; eliminates or controls hazards
  • Wears all prescribed PPE
  • Maintains excellent housekeeping
  • Participates in daily safety huddles and safety training; follows safe work plans
  • Reads and understands hazard signs, training materials, work plans, instruction manuals
  • Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned, including but not limited to continuously growing in alignment with the Companyโ€™s core values, competencies, and skills.
Education Qualifications Required

High School or Equivalent

Qualifications
  • 1+ years working in concrete and/or aggregate production
Licenses and Certifications

Valid driver's license is required

Working Conditions/Physical Demands

Some exposure to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites, including heights, moving vehicles, stopped traffic Outdoor conditions that include inclement weather, precipitation, heat, humidity, dust, asphalt and/or concrete, dirt Indoor office conditions that include regular exposure to office equipment, such as computers, copiers, mail machines, telephones Lifts, pushes, pulls, pours or carries heavy objects, loads of material Walks and stands for long periods of time Bends, stoops, squats, reaches to move materials Climbs in, out and under equipment; lays or stands under equipment Uses abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue; Uses good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination, with the ability to quickly move arms and legs Possess excellent stamina to work between 8-12 hours per day
