About The Opportunity

Position Summary
Manages the daytoday activities of an organization's operations department. Assists in evaluating current and proposed systems and procedures. Recommends changes when necessary and assists in implementation of new processes.
Develops and maintains favorable relationships with the existing client in order to increase revenue. Ensures that organizational goods and services consistently meet client needs.

Essential Job Functions

The following duties are normal for this position. The incumbent may perform some or all of these duties however; it is not an exclusive or all-inclusive list. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Establishes operational strategies to assure company objectives in the areas of safety, productivity, quality, customer service, sales, human capital, cost and profitability

  • Accountable for assigned site's key performance metrics including machine and labor efficiencies and provides guidance to departmental leaders to ensure scorecard objectives are met

  • Proactively monitors site capacity and collaborates with other sites on scheduling optimization to meet internal and external customer ontimedelivery demands

  • Conducts equipment feasibility studies and makes recommendations for investment; works with Finance to prepare capital expenditure plan and is accountable for payback expectations

  • Collaborates with crossfunctional leaders to set continuous improvement initiatives to drive operational excellence Prepares and manages the annual financial plan and monitors performance through forecasting and/or other company reports

  • Ensures the overall maintenance and security of facilities, grounds, utilities and equipment

  • Provides guidance on staffing, training, employee relations and performance management to develop and enhance the Operations function, working closely with direct reports

  • Interacts with key stakeholders to provide technical support, explore new business opportunities, and/or resolve order problems or complaints

  • Maintains industry, professional and technical knowledge by networking, attending industry events, and reviewing professional publications

  • Assume overall responsibility for the relationship and operational care of assigned customer to ensure complete customer satisfaction and act as a liaison between internal customer departments

  • Strong packaging industry knowledge and sales experience to identify, contact, and influence customer's key decision makers with regards to our resources and offerings

  • Highly skilled at cultivating partnership-type relationships with client management

  • Pro-active with respect to providing timely feedback regarding sales activities, contacts, meetings, and opportunities identified, resources required and action steps necessary

  • Excellent leadership and coordination skills to introduce our expertise to ensure maximum account penetration

  • Knowledge of sales processes and tools to increase sales revenue through maximizing corporate resources and shortening sales cycles

  • Provide timely updates to management (as determined by management) regarding operation activities: meetings, opportunities identified, resources required and action steps to secure sales targets

  • Ensures and supports to make sure Food safety, Quality, HACCP and GMP is always followed.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Minimum of 6 years of management experience working in operations in the packaging industry

  • Extensive knowledge of corrugated and/or packaging industry, solid financial knowledge, production management and warehouse inventory control experience

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

  • Primarily works in a production and or/ warehouse setting with time also spent in an office setting

  • Frequent walking and standing required

  • Occasional travel required
