PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT:
Under the direction of the Operations Manager, oversee day to day operations of the facility to maximize customer satisfaction, emphasize employee safety and maximize location profitability.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Coordinates distribution, warehousing, and purchasing in accordance with established principles and procedures
• Supervise both full time and part time operations personnel
• Evaluate location employee performance through annual employee evaluations
• Assist in recruiting, hiring, training, discipline, and dismissal of employees
• Responsible for making sure that location employees have the proper skills, training, licenses for the jobs they are performing
• Maintains a high level of employee, facility, and equipment image
• Monitor inventory to maintain condition and prevent shrink
• Assist in developing the location budget
• Assist in determining location asset needs
• Work with walk in customers
• Use people and equipment to provide excellent customer service and satisfaction
• Develop plans and work with other locations to maximize employee and equipment efficiency
• Work with Operations Manager on all safety and compliance issues
• Perform all other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
• Previous experience (3 - 5 years) in retail agronomy operations
• Must be a customer focused individual, committed to customer service
• Proven people skills
• Demonstrated problem solving skills along with verbal and written communication skills
• Must be highly organized, mature and professional
• Must be able to work with or gain knowledge to operate Ag-Vance software to make blend tickets, transfers, and reports
• Meticulous housekeeping skills; attention to detail
• Able to obtain results through others
• Must be able to work without direct supervision
• Must work as a team member and continue to grow the team philosophy at the location
• Must be able to operate equipment necessary
• Must be able to handle multiple tasks at the same time
• Must have or ability to obtain a valid CDL and State of Illinois Commercial Pesticide Applicators License
WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Must be able to make decisions under pressure.
  • Must be able to perform a wide variety of tasks daily.
  • Must be able to handle customer complaints and determine if complaint is legitimate and work with customer to resolve problem in a fair and equitable manner.
  • Must be willing to perform the physical demands of the job including but not limited to:
  • Consistently lift and carry 70 lbs.
  • Be on your feet for long periods of time.
  • Walk through standing crops to inspect fields.
  • Climb on and off of equipment.
  • Work hours beyond those considered normal in the peak season and as customer needs dictate.

COMPENSATION
The expected salary range for this position is $60,000 - $100,000 annually, depending on experience, qualifications, and business needs.
This role may also be eligible for a bonus program, which can include performance-based incentives and a location profit-sharing bonus, where applicable.
