Job description

About the Role Working within the Cougars Athletics and Recreation Department, this is a flexible position whose work schedule is variable and may include an irregular schedule of not less than three (3) hours per shift and up to thirty-five (35) hours per week. Weekend and evening work is required. These positions will end on March 31, 2027.

This position will oversee the MRU Cougars admissions and concession during all soccer, volleyball and basketball home games. This individual will be responsible for supervising up to five staff per game and ensuring quality in customer service, accounting measures and product inventory/display. Food Handler Certificate and Alberta ProServe certificate are required.

This role will enforce alcohol service regulations and MRU game day ticket guidelines. Responsibilities Oversee all aspects of the Cougars admission for courts home games Oversee set up and take down of admissions booth and equipment Provide customer service support as the highest level of staff present for patron inquiries regarding admission and event access Ensure the admissions space remains clean and organized at all times Oversee all aspects of the Cougars concession for courts home games Serve food and beverages to patrons Provide customer service support as the highest level of staff present for patron inquiries regarding concessions Manage orders and service in a timely manner with a positive attitude Ensure proper food handling and cleanliness standards are maintained by all staff working in the concessions Ensure all staff are following regulations for service of alcoholic beverages Complete post event financial reconciliation at the end of each shift Ensure the concessions space remains clean and organized at all times Responsible for opening and closing the concession, ensuring checklists are completed Supervise up to five staff per game (generally 2 admission team members and 2-3 concession team members) All other duties as assigned Qualifications Must have Food Handler Certification and Alberta ProServe Certification Experience working in food services Experience with transactions in a fast paced environment Ability to work independently with minimal direction Excellent communication skills with an ability to interact professionally with stakeholders Strong working knowledge of Google (drive, docs, sheets, forms etc.) Knowledge of basic accounting and inventory practices Ability to oversee staff as assigned Strong attention to detail in all areas of work Strong understanding of food trends Salary: $21.87 - $27.61 per hour Closing Date: Open until a suitable candidate is found.
