Job description

DHL Supply Chain is looking to hire an Implementation General Manager to lead new start-up operations within our Technology sector. This role will provide strategic and operational leadership throughout the implementation and launch of new business opportunities, ensuring successful execution from initial start-up through transition into a fully operational environment. Candidates must have General Manager-level experience or Senior Operations Manager experience with full P&L ownership. Start-up implementation experience is highly preferred, with proven success launching new operations, establishing processes, stabilizing performance, and supporting customer implementations. Strong customer-facing experience is required, including the ability to build relationships, communicate effectively with customers, manage expectations, and serve as a trusted operational partner throughout implementation and ongoing operations.
Candidates must have experience leading complex operations, developing teams, and building a strong site culture. Tier 1 Warehouse Management System (WMS) experience is required. This position requires a highly adaptable leader who can manage complex implementations, influence cross-functional teams, collaborate directly with customers, and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment. The ability and willingness to travel approximately 80% is a requirement.
Required Qualifications:
  • General Manager experience OR Senior Operations Manager experience with full P&L ownership
  • Proven full P&L management experience with demonstrated financial accountability
  • Required experience building and developing strong site culture and high-performing teams
  • Required experience working with Tier 1 WMS solutions (Blue Yonder, Manhattan, or comparable enterprise systems)

Job Description:
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the warehouse, including receiving, storing, and shipping goods efficiently and accurately.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize warehouse processes, minimize costs, and maximize productivity.
  • Lead and motivate a team of Operations Managers and staff, providing coaching, guidance, and support as needed, while also developing a strong team culture.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies, and oversee operational and personnel activities in the facility to maintain a safe, clean, and efficient working environment.
  • Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS), automation and other technology to track inventory, monitor performance metrics, and identify areas for improvement.
  • Manage vendor relationships, and ensure cost-effective services and supplies while managing the site in accordance with the commercial agreement.
  • Prepare and analyze reports on warehouse performance, inventory levels, and other key metrics to inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement.
  • Lead customer relationships by maintaining close daily contact to ensure strong connections and customer satisfaction.
  • Responsible for the site's profit and loss (P&L), which is directly influenced by customer relationships.
  • Prepare and present Monthly/Quarterly Business Review (MBR/QBR) to customer, leveraging strong team collaboration.

Required Education and Experience
  • 5+ years managerial/supervisory experience, required
  • 2+ years of experience in a supply chain, warehousing or distribution environment, required
  • Experience in Third Party Logistics (3PL) and/or Contract Logistics, preferred
  • Staff management, required
  • P&L management, preferred

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent, preferred
