Department Summary

The Toulouse Graduate School within the Division of Research & Innovation promotes and supports graduate student education by overseeing graduate student programs, professional development, and graduate student research engagement. TGS collaborates with departments in recruitment, admissions, and enrollment services to support and enhance the UNT graduate student experience and help students succeed both academically and in their future careers.

Position Overview

The Program Associate Director for Graduate Studies in the Toulouse Graduate School provides support and coordination for graduate education initiatives, programs, and services that support graduate student success across the university. Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Research & Innovation - Graduate Studies & Student Research this position manages operational activities, facilitates collaboration among academic and administrative units, accreditation reporting, supports strategic enrollment and retention efforts, and ensures continuity of Toulouse Graduate School.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in related field and four years of professional related experience; substitute education for experience only.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Thorough knowledge of program related state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with various populations orally and in writing.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in higher education, student affairs, or related field.
  • Experience in program development, student services, or graduate education.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Experience working with diverse student populations.

Job Duties

  • Manage Toulouse Graduate School Administration and Operations: Coordinate and manage TGS administrative functions, procedures, and workflows to support graduate academic programs, student success initiatives, and research-related activities across the university while ensuring operational efficiency and continuity in TGS.
  • Manage Graduate Education Reporting, Assessment, and Compliance: Coordinate data collection, analysis, and reporting related to graduate education, student success, and research activities; support accreditation, institutional reporting, assessment efforts, and compliance with university, state, and federal requirements.
  • Facilitate Campus-wide Collaboration: Serve as a liaison among the graduate school, academic colleges, enrollment management, and other university offices to coordinate policies, initiatives, and graduate education activities.
  • Other duties as assigned: Perform additional responsibilities and special projects in support of the mission and strategic priorities of the Division of Research and Innovation.
