JOB TITLE: EVENT RENTAL COORDINATOR

Position Overview:
Help CSMA bring performances, classes, and community events to life! As a Rental & Event Coordinator, you'll support the scheduling and management of CSMA's event and rehearsal spaces, including Martha Hamblin Hall. Your work ensures that renters, performers, and audiences have a safe, seamless, and professional experience while supporting the school's vibrant arts community.

Summary of Responsibilities:
Rental & Event Coordination
- Schedule events in CSMA venues and rehearsal spaces, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment.
- Serve as a liaison for renters and in-house events.
- Establish and enforce protocols for the appropriate use of facilities by renters and event organizers.
- Ensure timely and accurate billing for facility rentals.
- Communicate effectively with renters to provide excellent customer service.
- Coordinate event logistics with the Executive Director and Program Director.
- Supervise Production Assistants.

Event Preparation Support (as needed)
- Assisting with pre-event setup for concerts, recitals, and community programs.
- Tidying and resetting spaces after events.

This experiential learning opportunity is designed for students who wish to gain hands-on marketing experience while developing communication, strategy, and analysis skills.

Participants will design and lead content creation that focuses on CSMA's arts education programs and organization culture. Students will receive mentorship and support from CSMA's Marketing & Outreach Manager. The primary goal of this position is to raise CSMA's visibility through external communications including social media and video promotion.

This position is distinct from employment as a CSMA employee. Participants are not being onboarded as independent instructors and will receive ongoing guidance, feedback, and mentorship from CSMA staff.

Participants will design and lead their own introductory classes in visual arts, music, dance, or theatre for children and youth. Students will receive mentorship and support from CSMA staff throughout the planning and teaching process. The primary goal of this position is educational and professional development. This fellowship is intended to provide aspiring educators and arts professionals with practical teaching experience in a supportive community arts setting.

This position is distinct from employment as a CSMA instructor. Work study participants are engaged in a supervised learning experience focused on developing teaching skills and educational practices. Participants are not being onboarded as independent instructors and will receive ongoing guidance, feedback, and mentorship from CSMA staff.

Learning Objectives:
Through this experience, students will:
- Develop age-appropriate lesson plans and learning activities
- Gain experience teaching and facilitating classes for children and youth
- Build classroom management and communication skills
- Learn how community arts programs are designed and administered
