Here's the bit about the opportunity:
Fireblocks is seeking an experienced Operations Director to lead a strategic initiative related to our regulated payments infrastructure. This role will be responsible for building and managing operational systems that support the movement of funds and digital assets between our clients and their customers. The ideal candidate will bring financial operations expertise, regulatory understanding, and strong leadership capabilities to help establish and scale this new business unit.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the establishment of operational infrastructure for a regulated payments business, including banking relationships, treasury operations, and financial processes
  • Develop and implement operational workflows, policies, and procedures that ensure regulatory compliance and operational excellence
  • Oversee day-to-day operations, including transaction processing, reconciliation, and reporting
  • Manage financial performance, including P&L responsibility and budget oversight
  • Work directly with state and federal regulators to ensure ongoing compliance with all applicable money transmission and financial services regulations
  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions
  • Establish KPIs and reporting mechanisms to measure and optimize operational performance
  • Develop risk management frameworks and controls appropriate for a regulated financial services business
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in financial operations in stablecoin payments, money transmission, banking, or fintech
  • Proven track record in building and scaling operational teams and systems in regulated financial environments
  • Experience with treasury management, cash flow operations, and financial controls
  • Understanding of money transmission licensing requirements and compliance frameworks
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to build and develop high-performing teams
  • Excellent project management capabilities with experience launching new business lines or entities
  • Strong communication skills and ability to represent the company professionally with regulators, partners, and clients
  • Basic understanding of blockchain technology and digital assets (deep technical knowledge not required)
  • Experience working in fast-paced, ambiguous environments where processes need to be created from the ground up
Preferred Qualifications
  • Direct experience with money transmitter licensing and operations
  • Background in payment processing, digital wallets, or similar financial services
  • Experience at a high-growth fintech company or financial institution
  • Knowledge of stablecoins and their use in payment applications
  • MBA, CPA, or relevant financial/operational certifications

For employees hired to work remotely from New York, or from our NYC HQ, Fireblocks is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This range is specific to New York City and takes into consideration a wide range of factors that are reviewed when making a hiring decision, such as years of experience, skills, and other business needs.
It is not typical for a candidate to be hired at or near the top of the pay range and each compensation decision is dependent on each individual case. A reasonable base salary range estimate for this position is $178,000 - $245,000. The base salary is one component of the total compensation package, which for some roles may include a target bonus, a very competitive equity grant, and very generous benefits.
