MOUNTAIN OPERATIONS CREW

Utah Olympic Legacy Foundation

Job description

Mountain Operations Crew (Snowmaker)
Utah Olympic Park, Park City, UT
At the Utah Olympic Park, the snow you make doesn't just cover a hill. It builds the training and competition venues where grassroots athletes and Olympic hopefuls chase the same dream. As a Snowmaker on our Mountain Operations team, you'll run the guns, hoses, pumps, and snowmobiles that turn winter weather into world-class terrain. It's physical, technical, unpredictable work, and if you'd rather be outside solving problems than sitting behind a desk, keep reading.
Schedule, Pay & Benefits
  • Seasonal, full-time position
  • Park operates 7 days a week with flexible scheduled days off.
  • During active snowmaking, graveyard shifts (8:00 PM to 8:00 AM) are preferred.
  • Pay range starts at $22/hr
  • Benefits & Perks:
    • Wellness reimbursement towards outdoor activities like a season ski pass
    • Free friends-and-family vouchers for venue activities like tubing and the bobsled experience
    • Discounts on retail, concessions, and sport programs

Why This Role
You'll work for an organization carrying forward the legacy of Winter Olympic sport, on a team that takes real pride in building venues good enough for Olympic-level training but doesn't take itself too seriously doing it. The pace is fast and the deadlines are real, yet the management style is relaxed and flexible, and most of your teammates are here because they love to ski or snowboard and want a job that lets them do it when the workflow allows. It's a small, tight-knit crew with big responsibility.
Job Requirements
Must-Haves:
  • At least 18 years old with a valid driver's license
  • Working knowledge of snowmaking equipment (fan guns and air/water systems)
  • Ability to operate snowmobiles and side-by-side vehicles
  • Ability to traverse steep, high-elevation terrain in extreme winter conditions
  • Mechanical aptitude and a safety-first mindset
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays

Nice-to-Haves:
  • 3+ years of snowmaking experience strongly preferred
  • Experience operating a snowcat
  • Experience servicing or troubleshooting snow guns (fan and air/water)

Day in the Life
Most days, you're on the mountain making snow, setting up and moving guns, running hoses and pumps, and keeping equipment serviced and running clean. But snowmaking is only part of the job. You might help prepare a race course one day, build terrain park features the next, or pitch in on carpentry, fabrication, or general infrastructure projects that keep the whole Park running. Once snowmaking season wraps, the team shifts into supporting venue maintenance and hosted competitions. No two days look alike, and that's the point: this crew thrives on adapting to whatever the day throws at them.
About You at Utah Olympic Park
You're not afraid of cold, dark, or hard physical work; you'd rather be solving a problem on the mountain than watching from inside. You bring grit when conditions get tough and take real pride in the quality of snow and terrain you help produce. You work well with a small crew where everyone pitches in outside their lane, and you like the idea that your work directly supports athletes training for the biggest stages in sport. Experience is a plus, but a willingness to learn matters more than a perfect resume.
Come help us build the venues that build Olympic athletes. If you want a job where the work is physical, the team is tight, and the impact is real, apply today through this job posting or visit our careers page: https://utaholympiclegacy.org/careers/.
