Job description

Directive Consulting is the leading B2B performance marketing agency that delivers real revenue—not just leads.

We use Customer Generation (a marketing methodology developed by us) to cut through the noise. Forget MQLs—we’re here to drive pipeline, fuel SQLs, and scale brands that are serious about growth. From Paid Media and SEO to CRO, RevOps, and Go-To-Market Strategy, we build marketing engines that win in SaaS and across B2B industries.

We move fast. We think boldly. We are elite. We hire people who challenge the status quo and push campaigns past what’s expected - sparking demand for bold, innovative brands. If you live for performance, love solving hard problems, and want your work to actually mean something, you’ll fit right in.

But here’s the fun part—we don’t just deliver results; we’re shaping the future of marketing. Ready to build something that breaks the mold?
*Internally this role is titled Associate Director, Revenue Operations*
About The Role

We’re looking for an Associate Director, Revenue Operations to help lead and scale Directive’s Revenue Operations practice. This is a senior, client-facing player-coach role for someone who combines strong people leadership with deep technical expertise across Salesforce, marketing automation, and HubSpot.

You’ll partner closely with the Director of Revenue Operations to lead a team of RevOps Strategists, oversee complex client engagements, and ensure we consistently deliver high-quality strategic and technical work. You’ll also remain hands-on, stepping into client environments to guide architecture, troubleshoot complex issues, conduct audits, and support implementations when deeper expertise is required.

The right person is equally comfortable leading a team, presenting recommendations to senior client stakeholders, and getting into the details of a Salesforce or marketing automation environment.

What You’ll Do:

  • Manage and mentor a team of Revenue Operations Solution Engineers, including workload management, prioritization, coaching, and performance support.

  • Serve as an escalation point for complex client and technical challenges.

  • Own or oversee strategic client relationships, ensuring strong communication, delivery quality, and client satisfaction.

  • Lead and support Salesforce, HubSpot, and marketing automation audits, implementations, integrations, and optimization projects.

  • Provide hands-on expertise across Salesforce Sales Cloud, Salesforce Account Engagement/Pardot, and HubSpot Marketing Hub.

  • Design and advise on lifecycle architecture, lead management, routing, automation, CRM/MAP integrations, attribution, reporting, and data governance.

  • Translate complex technical findings into clear recommendations for executive and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Review strategist work for technical accuracy and strategic quality before client delivery.

  • Partner with Account Directors and internal leadership to identify expansion and cross-sell opportunities.

  • Support scoping, solution design, and new business conversations for RevOps opportunities.

  • Help develop repeatable processes, documentation, playbooks, and technical standards as the Revenue Operations practice scales.

  • Maintain visibility into project health, capacity, utilization, and delivery risks across the team.

What You’ll Bring

Must Haves

  • 5+ years of experience in Revenue Operations, CRM consulting, Marketing Operations, Salesforce consulting, or a related discipline.

  • Meaningful experience working in an agency, consultancy, systems integrator, or professional services environment, supporting multiple client engagements.

  • 1–2+ years of direct people management or formal team leadership experience, including coaching, prioritization, workload management, and quality oversight.

  • Active Salesforce Administrator Certification.

  • Strong hands-on experience with Salesforce Sales Cloud, including administration, solution design, implementation, optimization, and troubleshooting.

  • Experience leading complex Salesforce or RevOps engagements such as implementations, audits, migrations, integrations, or optimization initiatives.

  • Hands-on experience with at least one marketing automation platform outside of Salesforce Sales Cloud, such as HubSpot Marketing Hub, Marketo, or Salesforce Account Engagement/Pardot. Formal certification in these platforms is not required.

  • Strong understanding of how CRM and marketing automation systems work together across lead lifecycle management, routing, automation, integrations, attribution, reporting, and data governance.

  • Demonstrated experience leading client discovery, diagnosing business and technical challenges, and translating findings into clear recommendations for senior stakeholders.

  • Experience scoping consulting engagements, including defining deliverables, estimating effort, identifying assumptions and dependencies, and establishing clear scope boundaries.

  • Experience supporting new business, pitches, proposals, cross-sell, or account expansion opportunities.

  • Strong written and verbal communication with the executive presence to confidently manage client expectations, navigate difficult conversations, and make technical concepts understandable to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Ability to operate as a true player-coach, balancing team leadership with hands-on client and technical work.

Preferred

  • Additional Salesforce certifications, particularly Sales Cloud Consultant or other relevant consulting credentials.

  • Salesforce Account Engagement/Pardot, HubSpot, or Marketo certifications.

  • Deeper hands-on experience across more than one marketing automation platform.

  • Experience working with B2B and SaaS organizations across Salesforce and marketing automation environments.

  • Experience managing multiple concurrent client engagements and competing priorities.

  • Experience owning or contributing to project economics, utilization, capacity planning, and delivery quality.

  • Experience helping build or scale a RevOps, Salesforce, or professional services practice.

What We Offer:

  • Compensation for this role includes a competitive base salary

  • Medical, dental, vision plans, disability, and life insurance coverage for you and your family that fit your lifestyle

    • Including a 100% employer-paid plan for you and a 50% employer contribution for your dependents (US, CAD, MX)

  • Benefits to Support the Whole Person:

    • Mental - Access to certified therapists through Spring Health, membership to Headspace

    • Physical - Physical therapy through Omada, thousands of Aaptiv virtual workouts, complimentary One Medical membership for primary and virtual care

    • Time Off - Unlimited PTO (2-week minimum), Paid Company Holidays, Your Birthday Off, End of Year Recharge (Closed December 24 - January 1), Paid Parental Leave

    • Financial - Traditional and Roth 401(k) with a 3% company match

    • Bonus - Annual bonus based on tenure, which scales in total amount over time

    • Annual Company-wide Retreat
