Job description

Forestar Group Inc. is a residential and real estate development company and a majority-owned subsidiary of D.R. Horton, Inc., the largest homebuilder by volume in the United States for sixteen consecutive years.

Forestar Group is currently looking for anย Operations Asset Specialist I-FG.ย The right candidate will provide centralized support to Project and Investment Managers and coordinate closely with related analysts for all aspects of assigned real estate acquisitions and development projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Analyze and understand real estate development and property operation for the projects assigned
  • Research, collect and review data on properties as needed including title policies, deeds, tax records, environmental reports and HOA by-laws and covenants
  • Participate in contract administration including setting up and maintaining standardized files and purchase orders in JDE
  • Request and verify draws and funding requests
  • Generate data entry of project information and assist in maintaining lot detail information
  • Secure and maintain filing of required documents for acquisition, development and management of assigned project
  • Prepare check requests for various permits, fees and other acquisition or development related services
  • Process documentation for lot and sale closings
  • Participate in property tax management
  • Conducts all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the company
  • Assist vendors
  • Coordinate with related analyst to ensure that contract and direct pay invoices are coded accurately and as budgeted
  • Provide assistance regarding HOA issues
  • Assist in property operation functions as assigned by the Asset Manager
  • Ability to work overtime

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Six months to two years of applicable real estate experience
  • Accounting background and/or basic accounting skills
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral form or via DRH applications
  • Proficiency with MS Office and email

Preferred Qualifications

  • JDE experience and/or the ability to learn and adapt to new software applications with direction and training
