Role Overview

The General Service Technician (GST) is an important member of our Technical Production team, responsible for performing vehicle maintenance, inspections, and entry-level repairs while maintaining our standards for quality and safety.

This position is ideal for someone who has started their career in the automotive industry and is ready to take the next step. You'll work alongside experienced technicians and Service Advisors, gain exposure to a wide variety of vehicles, and have opportunities to expand your technical abilities through hands-on experience and ongoing training.

Our goal isn't simply to hire you as a General Service Technician. We want to provide you with the opportunity and resources to develop into the technician you want to become.

Key Responsibilities1. Vehicle Maintenance & Service
  • Perform routine automotive maintenance, including oil and filter changes, tire rotations, fluid services, and other preventive maintenance.

  • Perform tire installation, balancing, and basic tire repairs.

  • Assist with brake, steering, suspension, and other mechanical repairs based on experience and skill level.

  • Follow manufacturer specifications and company procedures when performing services.

  • Verify completed work to ensure services are performed accurately and safely.

2. Vehicle Inspections
  • Perform thorough vehicle inspections to identify maintenance needs, safety concerns, and potential repairs.

  • Complete digital vehicle inspections with accurate notes, photos, and supporting information.

  • Communicate inspection findings clearly with Service Advisors and technicians.

  • Develop a strong understanding of vehicle systems and recommended maintenance intervals.

3. Shop Operations & Teamwork
  • Work closely with technicians, Service Advisors, and other team members to support efficient shop operations.

  • Assist experienced technicians with repairs and diagnostic procedures when appropriate.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

  • Properly care for company tools, equipment, and shop resources.

  • Contribute to a positive team environment built on professionalism, accountability, and respect.

4. Training & Career Development
  • Participate in ongoing technical training and educational opportunities.

  • Continue developing skills in maintenance, repair, diagnostics, and automotive technology.

  • Work toward ASE Certifications and additional industry credentials.

  • Learn from experienced technicians and leadership through hands-on coaching and mentorship.

  • Demonstrate initiative and a desire to progress into higher-level technician positions.

Required Qualifications
  • Strong interest in building a career in the automotive industry.

  • Basic knowledge of automotive maintenance and repair.

  • Ability to safely operate automotive tools and equipment.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

  • Dependable, professional, and willing to learn.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Preferred Qualifications
  • At least one year of experience in the automotive service or repair industry preferred.

  • OR completion of, or enrollment in, an automotive technical school or automotive training program.

  • Previous professional experience performing oil changes, tires, inspections, or general vehicle maintenance.

  • ASE Certifications or interest in pursuing ASE Certification.

  • State inspection and emissions licenses are a plus but not required.

Full-Time

Monday – Friday

7:30 AM – 5:00 PM

Compensation: $18–$21 per hour, based on experience and skill level
