On-site Workforce Operations Manager (2nd Shift)

Location:West Point, GA

Shift:2nd Shift (Must be flexible to support business needs across multiple shifts)

Position Summary

The On-site Workforce Operations Manager oversees daily production performance, employee engagement, staffing operations, quality initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts to ensure operational excellence.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with experience in manufacturing operations, employee development, and customer-focused service delivery. This position will partner closely with production leadership, quality, and human resources to achieve safety, quality, productivity, and workforce objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Operations Leadership

  • Direct and oversee daily 2nd shift production operations to meet safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives.
  • Monitor key performance indicators including productivity, attendance, quality performance, downtime, turnover, and headcount attainment.
  • Ensure shift objectives are achieved while maintaining operational continuity across shifts.

Workforce Management

  • Manage employee attendance, retention, engagement, and performance initiatives.
  • Coordinate orientation and training tracking for new hires and existing employees.
  • Support employee relationsthrough coaching, counseling, investigations, and corrective action processes.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies, labor regulations, and customer requirements.

Quality & Continuous Improvement

  • Ensure compliance with OEM quality standards, customer requirements, and internal quality management systems.
  • Identify opportunities to improve workforce performance, employee engagement, and operational efficiency.

Safety & Compliance

  • Maintain a safe and compliant work environment in accordance with OSHA regulations and company policies.
  • Ensure compliance with customer requirements, industry standards, and organizational procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing, operations, staffing, workforce management, or related leadership roles.
  • Strong understanding of workforce planning, employee engagement, recruiting, and onboarding processes.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles, continuous improvement methodologies, and performance management.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, HRIS/ATS systems, ERP systems, and production reporting tools.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Automotive manufacturing experience.
  • Lean Manufacturing Certification.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt Certification.
  • Knowledge of IATF 16949, ISO 9001, or other quality management systems.
  • Experience with high-volume production operations.
  • Project management experience or certification.
  • Experience managing contingent workforce programs or staffing operations.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work on the manufacturing floor for extended periods.
  • Frequent standing, walking, and movement throughout production areas.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and support business needs outside of regular shift schedules when required.
