Job description

We are looking for an experienced Controller to join our team in Longmont, Colorado on a Contract basis. This role will oversee core accounting operations across multiple entities, deliver reliable financial reporting, and help strengthen processes as the organization grows. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting expertise, leadership capability, and the ability to support informed business decisions through accurate financial insight.


Responsibilities:

• Direct the full monthly and annual close cycle for multiple business entities, ensuring deadlines are met and reporting is accurate and complete.

• Manage general ledger activity by reviewing transactions, reconciliations, and financial statements to maintain the integrity of accounting records.

• Lead multi-entity accounting operations, including intercompany balancing, account reconciliation, and preparation of consolidated financial results.

• Oversee construction-focused accounting activities such as work-in-progress tracking and other specialized accounting requirements tied to the industry.

• Monitor treasury operations, daily banking activity, and cash flow to support financial stability and planning.

• Review journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting schedules while investigating and resolving inconsistencies promptly.

• Strengthen accounting controls, documentation, and workflows to support efficient, scalable, and well-governed financial operations.

• Provide day-to-day leadership to accounting staff, offering coaching, technical direction, and clear performance expectations for accuracy and timeliness.

• Collaborate with company leadership and external auditors by supplying financial analysis, supporting annual audit efforts, and assisting with acquisition-related accounting integration.

• Use Sage Intacct to support accounting processes, reporting needs, and overall financial management while identifying opportunities for operational improvement.Longmont

• Demonstrated experience leading accounting and financial reporting functions in a Controller or similar senior accounting role.
• Strong knowledge of month-end and year-end close procedures, general ledger management, and balance sheet reconciliation.
• Hands-on experience with multi-entity accounting, intercompany transactions, and consolidated financial reporting.
• Background in construction accounting, including work-in-progress accounting and related industry practices.
• Ability to oversee cash management, banking activity, and financial controls with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Experience supervising accounting team members and providing clear guidance, coaching, and accountability.
• Proficiency with Sage Intacct or comparable accounting systems used for reporting and financial operations.
• Strong organizational skills, including document control and compiling financial support materials accurately and efficiently.
