A career as an Associate at National Bank is a role where your systems thinking, attention to detail, and interest in finance can have a direct impact on clients and advisors. In this role, you will help a wealth management team execute client instructions, maintain accurate information, navigate internal processes, and keep operational work moving from start to finish.

This position may be a strong fit for someone with a technology, data, operations, or process-improvement background who is interested in building a long-term career in financial services. Prior wealth-management experience is helpful, but the most important qualities are willingness to learn new topics and technology, strong judgment, focus on accuracy and accountability, and comfort working with multiple internal systems.

Your job:

  • Support wealth advisors in providing superior client service by helping ensure client requests, instructions, documents, and follow-up items are handled accurately and on time.
  • Carry out deposit, withdrawal, transfer, currency conversion, and other account instructions for investment accounts, with careful review, tracking, and confirmation through to completion.
  • Prepare, complete, and process account documentation and service requests using internal systems and workflow tools.
  • Monitor submitted transactions, forms, and requests; identify items that are delayed, rejected, incomplete, or unclear; and work with internal partners to resolve them.
  • Learn and navigate internal systems and processes, including documentation platforms, workflow tools, ticketing systems, reporting systems, and client record systems.
  • Use Excel and other tools to organize information, combine and compare data from multiple sources, identify inconsistencies, and prepare preliminary data for financial planning and portfolio reporting.
  • Run reports, retrieve statements and tax slips, package client documents securely, and support preparation of client meeting materials.
  • Maintain accurate client information and operational data points, including contact information, beneficiary details, banking instructions, and other key records.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying recurring process issues, improving checklists, and helping the team make better use of technology.

Your team:

Prerequisites:

  • Completed college and/or university diploma in a related field such as business, finance, accounting, management information systems, computer science, operations, administration, or another field requiring strong analytical, technological, and organizational skills.
  • Relevant experience in technology operations, data analysis, process coordination, financial services, banking operations, insurance, or another role requiring accuracy and follow-through is an asset.
  • Completion of the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) and/or Conduct and Practices Handbook Course, or willingness to complete required industry courses if applicable to the role.
  • Strong digital literacy and comfort learning new systems, workflow tools, and internal platforms.
  • Strong Excel skills and comfort working with data from multiple sources.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a careful approach to high-risk tasks, especially financial transactions and client documentation.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to investigate unclear issues and determine the next appropriate step.
