PositionDescription:
Manage andcoordinate the day-to-day financial and accounting activities supportingTurner's Insurance & Claims (Risk Management) department. Partner withFinance, Insurance Programs, Claims, Operations, and third-party serviceproviders to support financial reporting, reserve management, budgeting,forecasting, regulatory compliance, and financial analysis related to theCompany's risk management programs.
Essential Duties& Responsibilities:
* Prepare scheduled and ad hoc executive-level presentations, financial models, dashboards, and reporting packages that communicate financial performance and emerging risk trends.
* Partner with Operations Finance and HQ Finance teams to ensure accurate accounting treatment and ledger integrity for insurance and claims transactions
* Review and reconcile reserve activity, claim payments, premium allocations, and related balance sheet accounts.
* Collaborate with Turner Surety Insurance Brokerage team and analyze historical claims experience and emerging trends to identify financial risks and opportunities for process improvement. Participate on cross-functional process improvement teams.
* Review financial performance, fee structures, and contract terms for Third-Party Administrators (TPAs), brokers, and Risk Management Information System (RMIS) vendors, providing recommendations to management.
* Assist with annual audits by preparing schedules, supporting documentation, and responding to audit requests.
* Oversee and monitors fleet vehicle program for risk management, including ensuring appropriate insurance coverage and compliance
* Assist with the monthly financial reporting process for Risk Management, ensuring timely and accurate reporting of financial results and payments to vendors.
* Prepare and analyze financial reports related to insurance programs, claims activity, reserve balances, premiums, and total cost of risk.
* Assist the Financial Manager with management of reserve funds, analyze loss data, and monitor budgets for claim payouts and insurance premiums.
* Develop financial analyses and predictive models supporting claim liabilities, premium allocations, reserve adequacy, and total cost of risk.
* Partner with the Financial Manager, Insurance Programs team, Brokerage partners, and Chief Risk Officer during annual budgeting for insurance premiums, departmental operating expenses, and expected claim payments.
* Monitor monthly financial performance against budget and forecast, investigate significant variances, and prepare explanations of loss trends and financial results.
* Support financial reporting requirements, regulatory compliance, and internal control processes related to insurance and claims accounting.
* Provide guidance and support to accounting staff and cross-functional business partners regarding insurance and claims accounting processes and provide training as needed.
* Support implementation of financial system enhancements, reporting automation, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:
* Bachelor's Degree from accredited degree program with minimum of 5 years of related experience in Risk Management, Insurance, and/or Claims Finance. If the Bachelor's Degree is not in Finance or Accounting or a related finance field, completion of, or a commitment to pursue within one year, an approved accounting certificate (e.g., postbaccalaureate coursework or an accredited certification program such as CMA, CFA or among others) or an advanced business degree (e.g., MBA or Finance related Master's Degree) is required
* ARM, CRIS, CPCU certifications preferred
* Thorough understanding of GAAP, financial modeling, financial reporting, account reconciliations, budgeting, and forecasting
* Experience analyzing large financial datasets and identifying trends, variances, and financial risks
* Knowledge of insurance accounting, claims administration, reserve accounting, or self-insured programs preferred
* Experience working with actuarial data, insurance premiums, claim reserves, or loss forecasting preferred
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to develop financial models and communicate business insights
* Experience preparing presentations and communicating financial information to leadership.
* Ability to partner effectively across Finance, Insurance Programs, Operations, and external service providers
* Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously
* Self-motivated, adaptable and flexible to operate with minimal direction or supervision while working in a complex and changing environment
* Financial system applications proficiency, MS Office, and advance MS Excel
* Professional written and verbal communication skills
* Demonstrates sound judgment, attention to detail, integrity, and commitment to continuous improvement
* Leadership experience preferred with demonstrated ability to mentor and coordinate the work of others without direct ownership of department strategy
* Some travel required (25%)
