Risk Management Engineer

Location: Kirtland AFB, NM, 87417

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Risk Management Engineer to join our team at Kirtland Air Force Base. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Department of Defense (DoD) Risk Management Framework (RMF) in accordance with DoDI 8510.01, and proficiency with MATE Technologies. This role involves prioritizing risks across the Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center (AFNWC) and Nuclear Deterrence Wing (NDW) to ensure mission assurance and compliance with DoD cybersecurity standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement and manage the DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes in compliance with DoDI 8510.01.
  • Utilize MATE Technologies to assess, monitor, and mitigate cybersecurity risks.
  • Identify, analyze, and prioritize risks across AFNWC and NDW to support mission-critical operations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop risk mitigation strategies and ensure continuous authorization to operate.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation related to risk assessments, security controls, and compliance activities.
  • Provide expert guidance on risk management best practices and DoD cybersecurity policies.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a Risk Management Engineer within DoD environments.
  • In-depth knowledge of DoD RMF processes and DoDI 8510.01 compliance requirements.
