Job description

Chemical Engineer

Crystal Finishing Systems | Wisconsin

Crystal Finishing Systems is seeking a Chemical Engineer to support and improve the chemical processes behind our anodizing, coating, wastewater treatment, and water purification operations. This position plays a key role in maintaining product quality, troubleshooting process issues, reducing defects, and driving continuous improvement across multiple manufacturing facilities.

The ideal candidate will enjoy working hands-on in a manufacturing environment, analyzing data, solving complex problems, and collaborating with operations, quality, engineering, and maintenance teams.

What You'll Do
  • Oversee chemical processes related to anodizing, pretreatment, wastewater treatment, and water purification systems.
  • Monitor process performance, conduct chemical analysis and titrations, and ensure systems remain within operating parameters.
  • Investigate coating and finishing defects using root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives focused on quality, efficiency, equipment performance, and cost reduction.
  • Partner with suppliers, contractors, maintenance teams, and production personnel to troubleshoot and resolve process issues.
  • Develop training, procedures, and documentation while ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and operational standards.
What We're Looking For
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related technical field, or equivalent military/industry experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience working with chemical processes in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience using data analysis and Statistical Process Control (SPC) tools.
  • Excellent communication, training, and project management abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
