The RoleWe are currently launching a brand-new manufacturing facility in the Houston area, offering a unique opportunity to help build a plant's financial operations from the ground up with the backing and stability of a global tech leader.

Reporting directly to the Plant Controller, theCost & Financial Analystwill be a critical partner to our local leadership team. In this role, you will help us implement Sanmina's established corporate finance policies at the local level. We are looking for an experienced analyst who excels at standard costing and closing the books, but who also wants to use their advanced Excel skills to bring actionable insights to the Controller, maximize process efficiency, and drive profitability for this new site.

What You'll Do
  • New Plant Implementation & Process Improvement: Take Sanmina's established financial policies and implement them locally. Develop financial models and benchmark analyses to establish efficient workflows, reduce costs, and drive margin performance from day one.
  • Strategic Business Partnership: Partner directly with the Plant Controller to interpret operational data, develop robust forecast models, and guide strategic decision-making during the plant's ramp-up and beyond.
  • Cost Accounting & Operations: Work closely with engineering and the shop floor to gather multi-source data, establish accurate product costing, analyze variances, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Financial Close & Reporting: Actively drive the monthly and quarterly financial close processes for the facility. Assemble clear, accurate reports highlighting financial status, trends, and operational risks.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Consolidate financial data to build accurate budgets and income statement forecasts, ensuring the new plant's operations align with overarching corporate goals.
Who You Are
  • Education & Experience: You have a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field, paired with 3-5 years of progressive analytical experience. Background in a manufacturing or electronics manufacturing environment is a strong plus.
  • Technical Proficiency: Your MS Excel skills are advanced (pivot tables, complex formulas, and manipulating large datasets). Experience with Oracle 11i and Google Workspace (Gmail, Google Chat, Calendar, Drive, etc.) is helpful but not required.
  • Accounting Foundation: You have a solid practical understanding of cost accounting principles, standard costing, corporate finance, and month-end close mechanics.
  • Communication & Leadership: You have a strong ability to extract meaningful insights from complex data and present conclusions clearly to leadership. You are capable of spearheading cross-departmental projects.
  • Work Style: You have excellent time management skills and a "builder's" mentality. You thrive in a fast-paced, newly established environment, working effectively both independently and as part of a growing team.
