Job Overview:

As a Cook/Kitchen Staff, you will be prepping meals by weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients. You will cook meals, check ingredients for freshness, and arrange and garnish the meals. You will oversee ensuring the kitchen and equipment are properly cleaned and maintained.

To be successful in this job, you will need thorough experience with hot and cold food preparation.

Hours: This job requires you to work during the evening, weekends, and occasionally on holidays.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook food items according to established recipes and quality standards, ensuring consistency and presentation.

  • Operate various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including slicers, mixers, grinders, and food processors.

  • Maintain a thorough understanding of hot and cold food preparation techniques.

  • Adhere to all accepted sanitation standards and health codes to ensure a safe and hygienic work environment.

  • Wash dishes and maintain the cleanliness and organization of the dishwashing area.

  • Utilize cut gloves when handling knives and other sharp utensils.

  • Manage assigned tasks effectively and meet established time schedules.

  • Maintain an immaculate kitchen environment through regular cleaning and adherence to hygiene protocols.

  • Fulfill any other duties as delegated or directed by supervisory personnel.

General Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 16 years of age at the time of hire.

  • Prior experience in food and beverage service and food preparation is preferred.

  • Demonstrated experience with both hot and cold food preparation.

  • Sound working knowledge of accepted sanitation standards and health codes.

  • If 18 years old or older: Proficiency in operating kitchen equipment such as slicers, mixers, grinders, and food processors.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure and efficiency.

  • Possession of a valid food handler's card as required by county regulations.

Essential Functions

  • Prepare and cook menu items according to standardized recipes and quality standards.

  • Monitor food preparation to ensure safety, quality, and consistency.

  • Operate kitchen equipment safely, including ovens, fryers, grills, mixers, and slicers.

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including workstations, storage areas, and cooking equipment.

  • Stock and rotate ingredients, supplies, and food products to ensure freshness and availability.

  • Follow proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures in accordance with company policies and health regulations.

  • Communicate effectively with kitchen staff, management, and servers to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.

  • Manage time efficiently to handle busy periods, prioritize tasks, and maintain workflow.

  • Work independently or as part of a team to ensure smooth kitchen operations.

Physical Demands
