Perioperative Nursing Process: Patient assessment, nursing care plan creation and implementation, and evaluation of patient response and outcomes. Maintaining Aseptic Technique: Demonstrating understanding and use of sterile principles and monitoring the sterile field for breaks in sterility.

Patient Safety: Ensuring patient safety related to positioning, equipment use, and specimen handling. Equipment and Supplies Management: Preparing the operating room with necessary equipment and supplies, ensuring instrument sterilization and function, and managing inventory. Surgical Counts: Performing and accurately documenting surgical counts (sponges, sharps, instruments). Interdisciplinary Communication: Collaborating effectively with the surgical team (surgeons, anesthesiologists, scrub nurses, etc.). Problem-Solving: Collaborating with staff and physicians to solve problems and maintain a collaborative environment. Leadership and Initiative: Taking initiative in identifying areas for improvement and leading efforts to enhance care delivery. Annual completion of World Health Organization hand hygiene education and training and its relationship to infection control in addition to physical demonstration and understanding of compliance monitoring. For the past 12 months, the employee has achieved Vitalicy hand hygiene compliance of 75% or greater with consistent sensor use. Document employee compliance percentage in comments if applicable.
