What You'll Do
As a Senior Operating Engineer, you'll take ownership of building operations by maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing critical mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems. Your expertise will help ensure facilities remain safe, efficient, and fully operational.
Your day-to-day responsibilities include:
Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on commercial HVAC systems, water chillers, pumps, motors, air handlers, and other mechanical equipment.
Diagnose and resolve issues involving mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and building automation systems using industry best practices.
Manage and document maintenance activities through a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
Monitor building performance and identify opportunities to improve energy efficiency, reduce operating costs, and optimize system performance.
Collaborate with team members, contractors, and building occupants to coordinate maintenance activities and respond to service requests.
Support general building maintenance and complete plumbing and electrical repairs as needed.
Maintain a safe work environment while ensuring compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and company safety standards.
What You BringRequired Qualifications
Valid state driver's license maintained throughout employment.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in building engineering or facilities maintenance with expertise in one or more of the following:
Experience working with commercial HVAC equipment, including pumps, motors, air handlers, and building automation/controls systems.
Ability to independently troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems.
Proficiency using Microsoft Office, web-based applications, tablets, laptops, and smartphones.
High school diploma or GED.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build positive working relationships across diverse teams.
Preferred Qualifications
Universal EPA 608 Certification.
Experience using CMMS software for maintenance planning and work order management.
Knowledge of MEP and HVAC system design and operating principles.
Experience with energy management systems and building automation technologies.
Experience working in commercial, institutional, or industrial facilities.
A track record of implementing energy efficiency or sustainability initiatives.
