Job description

Operating Room Registered Nurse

Perform scrub and circulating responsibilities as an Operating Room Registered Nurse, selecting instruments, maintaining sterile fields, and supporting surgeons during invasive procedures.

Coordinate care with the interdisciplinary team to optimize patient safety, positioning, and before, during, and after surgery while ensuring clinical documentation in EHR systems.

Assist surgeons with hemostasis, suturing, and wound exposure, delivering precise intraoperative support that improves outcomes and reduces complications across surgical procedures.

Prepare operating rooms, instruments, and equipment, implementing infection control and quality improvement standards to ensure readiness, efficiency, and compliance with perioperative safety protocols.

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • One or more of the following required:
    • Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
    • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education:

  • Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.

Minimum of 2 years Operating Room/Circulating RN in a trauma hospital.

OR Charge Nurse experience a plus!

Well-rounded in all specialties: Trauma, Neuro, Spine, General, ENT, Plastics, Ortho, Vascular, and OB-GYN.
