Position Summary:

The University of Maryland Capital Region Medical Center is seeking a Full-Time Evening Shift Patient Care Technician (CNA) to join our Operating Room team.

As a Patient Care Technician, you will work alongside surgeons, registered nurses, anesthesia providers, and perioperative staff to help deliver safe, efficient, and compassionate care before, during, and after surgical procedures.

Full-Time Evening Shift | 2:45 p.m. to 11:15 p.m. | Maryland CNA License Required.

Key Responsibilities:

The following statements describe the general nature and level of work performed and are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities.

Transport patients safely to and from the Operating Room.

Assist with patient positioning and preparation for surgical procedures.

Obtain and document vital signs as directed.

Observe, monitor, and promptly communicate changes in patient condition to the assigned licensed nurse.

Prepare, stock, organize, and maintain Operating Room supplies and equipment.

Assist with Operating Room turnover between surgical cases to support efficient patient flow.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe perioperative environment.

Inspect equipment for proper function and promptly report safety concerns.

Adhere to infection prevention, sterile technique, and patient safety standards.

Support emergency response activities as needed.

Other duties as assigned.

Full-Time Evening Availability Required.

Monday through Friday | 2:45 p.m. - 11:15 p.m. | No Weekend Requirement.

Licensure & Experience:

Valid Maryland Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in good standing required.

Valid American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Minimum of one (1) year of direct patient care experience in a hospital or healthcare setting required.

Previous acute care or hospital experience preferred.

Ability to safely lift, transfer, and transport patients independently.

Strong communication, teamwork, and patient care skills required.

Compensation:

• Pay Range: $18.37 - $29.90 per hour.
