Location: Southernย Regional Medical Center - Riverdale, GA

We are seeking anย Operating Roomย RNย also known as an OR RN or perioperative nurse, provides comprehensive nursing care to patients before, during, and after surgery.Operating Room Nurseย workย within the operating room setting, collaborating with surgeons and other surgical team members to ensure patient safety and well-being.OR RNs prepare patients for surgery, which includes reviewing medical history, conducting assessments, educating patients and families about the procedure, and administering pre-operative medications.ย 

Responsibilities
  • Prepare the operating room,ย ensure the cleanliness of the environment, and confirm that all required equipment is functioning properlyย 
  • Assistย in preparing the patient for surgery, which may involve verifying the patient's identity and surgical site, helping to position the patient on the operating table, and ensuring that all necessary pre-operative procedures are completedย 
  • Document pertinent information before, during, and after the surgical procedure, such as the patient's vital signs, medications administered, and any other relevant details for the patient's medical recordย 
  • Maintain a safe and sterile environment in the operating room by adhering to strict infection control protocols and ensure that all team members follow proper procedures for handling instruments and equipmentย

Qualifications

Education and Work Experience

  • Current and valid state RN License.
  • Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
  • Current ACLS (AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
  • Current PALS (AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
  • Minimum of one year previous Perioperative experience or on the job training.
  • Certified Nurse OR (CNOR) Certification (AORN) preferred.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
