Job description

Overview

Controls and monitors all the equipment throughout all of Brookdale's buildings.

Responsibilities
  • Operate, control, and monitor all mechanical and electrical systems using I-VU the building management system.
  • Use I-VU go through and inspect buildings for any issues or concerns regarding the equipment in the buildings. The schedule for the how many buildings per shift will be developed the Plant Manager or Director
  • of Facilities.
  • Alert proper authorities and management in the event of equipment malfunction, critical alarm, or emergency in accordance with Operations Manual.
  • Maintain proper records and files, including shift logbook.
  • Contact Sheriff's Office as needed during evening and overnight shifts.
  • Issue system work orders when needed.
  • Dispatch maintenance personnel in response to service requests on an as needed basis.
  • Participate in system and safety training sessions as directed.
Qualifications

Education:

  • High School graduate, trade /technical school a plus.
  • Active NJ Black Seal Boiler Operator license required; Blue Seal Refrigeration license preferred.

Experience: 

  • Two years of directly related experience.
  • Chiller operations and cooling tower experience a plus.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Must be able to properly operate chillers, cooling tower and automated building controls software within 90 days of hire.
  • Must work shift hours and overtime hours as required.
  • Computer literacy skills at an intermediate level with the demonstrated ability to utilize and apply Microsoft Office Suite as well as specialized software programs and computer applications. Ability to learn and apply office practices, procedures, policies, and regulations that are essential to the position.
  • Valid Driver's license required.

Preferred Qualifications & Special Considerations:

  • Knowledge of Monmouth County and its communities. 
  • Must work in all weather conditions. Must be able to lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs. Must be able to climb ladders, bend, stoop or kneel for extended periods. Must be available to work overtime, evening or weekends as requested.
