Tessera is seeking a skilled and reliable Heavy Equipment Mechanic with a can-do attitude.
Typical duties include but are not limited to:
  • Performs preventive maintenance and repairs of equipment to include, wheel / track vehicles. engineer equipment, power generation, field service equipment and material handling equipment.
  • Accomplish minor repairs and perform services as outlined in established technical manuals.
  • Performs inspection and repair on brakes, suspension, wheels, hubs and steering systems.
  • Understands and follow technical manuals, lube orders, wiring and hydraulic schematics to ensure proper diagnosis and repair during annual services.
  • Performs major repair jobs by disassembling and cleaning parts, removing components, removal and installation of assemblies and installation of components.

Qualifications:
  • Must have 3 to 5 years light, medium, and heavy truck experience.
  • ASE T Series Certifications or must be in the process of testing for ASE T Series certification.
  • Vocational or Technical School Certification Preferred, but not required.
  • Must have experience working with diesel engines.
  • Must be able to read, understand, and follow technical manuals to ensure proper diagnosis and repair.
  • Ability to read and troubleshoot repair on breaks, suspensions, wheels, hubs, and steering systems.
  • Excellent verbal and writing skills.
  • Ability to use computers and computer software

Physical Requirements:
Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance. The physical demands of this position may be reasonably accommodated for individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions on a case-by-case basis.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, and push up to 70 pounds.
  • May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties.
  • Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking. Standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may also be required.
  • Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.

Requirements:
  • Valid Driver's license required. Must currently hold CDL-B or be able to obtain within 9 months of hire. Must be able to obtain and maintain approval to operate a vehicle by Tessera's insurance carrier.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances as background checks will be conducted for this position.
  • A Department of Transportation (DOT) regulated pre-employment medical examination and drug screening are required. Candidates must meet federal guidelines to be considered for this position
