What You Will Do
The Senior Systems Engineer designs, implements, monitors, and supports Trumark’s server, virtualization, cloud, storage, and backup environments. This role serves as the highest level of technical escalation for systems-related issues and partners across the organization to ensure infrastructure solutions align with business needs, security requirements, and operational goals.
This position helps maintain a secure, reliable, and scalable technology environment by supporting infrastructure projects, developing recovery strategies, evaluating new technologies, and continuously improving system performance and resiliency.
You will:
• Serve as the final point of escalation for complex systems-related issues and technical support requests.
• Research, design, implement, monitor, and maintain business-critical infrastructure technologies.
• Partner with Network, Information Security, and Application teams to support the successful implementation of technology solutions.
• Design, implement, monitor, and maintain backup and disaster recovery strategies in accordance with retention and recovery requirements.
• Work with business units to understand operational needs, define technical requirements, and resolve technology-related challenges.
• Develop and implement infrastructure standards, policies, and procedures that improve reliability, efficiency, and performance.
• Conduct cost-benefit and return on investment analysis to support infrastructure planning and technology decisions.
• Provide technical leadership, guidance, and escalation support to IT staff.
• Evaluate, recommend, and integrate new technologies that support business objectives and operational effectiveness.
• Partner with vendors, auditors, regulators, contractors, and business partners to maintain reliable services, support compliance requirements, and deliver technology solutions.

What You Bring to the Table

Education
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Information Security, or related field required. In lieu of degree; 10+ years of experience in the field.
Experience
• Five or more years of Systems Engineering or Systems Administration experience.
• Experience supporting enterprise infrastructure environments, including server, virtualization, cloud, and storage technologies.
• Experience working in a Managed Services Provider (MSP) environment or a similarly fast-paced technical support environment.
• Experience supporting infrastructure implementations, upgrades, migrations, and technology modernization initiatives.
Skills
• Expert knowledge of Microsoft server operating systems and directory services including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, NTFS permissions, clustering, and federation services.
• Advanced knowledge of virtualization technologies including VMware vSphere/ESXi, Hyper-V, Citrix, Docker, Kubernetes, and hyperconverged infrastructure platforms.
• Strong understanding of enterprise storage technologies including SAN, NAS, VSAN, hybrid cloud storage, iSCSI, Fiber Channel, and NFS.
• Experience supporting cloud infrastructure and SaaS platforms including Microsoft Azure, AWS, Microsoft 365, Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, and hybrid environments.
• Knowledge of backup, recovery, and business continuity solutions including Veeam, Site Recovery Manager, Azure Backup, and Barracuda.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
• Ability to lead technical projects, coordinate vendors, and partner effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and support team members through technical guidance and escalation support.
• Ability to evaluate technology solutions, identify opportunities for improvement, and recommend enhancements that support business objectives.
