Job description

Job Summary:
Hivemapper is a decentralized global map data network built by thousands of mapping devices. They are seeking a Staff Software Engineer to evolve and architect efficient userspace software systems that handle high-frequency data in real-time and optimize machine learning vision models for their hardware.
Responsibilities:
• Evolve and architect efficient userspace software systems dealing with rich, high frequency data in realtime
• Build high-level C++, Python, and TypeScript embedded applications and sensor fusion pipelines, and computer vision systems.
• Use a data-driven approach to iterating quickly with near-realtime performance monitoring across 10s of thousands of devices worldwide
• Write high quality software that takes advantage of hardware paths when possible
• Optimize ML vision models to run on our hardware efficiently.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Experience with embedded sensor solutions
• Solid understanding of map data sensor platforms - RGB, global shutter stereo depth, GNSS, IMUs, etc.
• Hands-on Linux OS development experience for embedded systems (we use Yocto)
• Proficiency in C or C++ and at least one of Python, Typescript, Node.JS, OpenVINO, or Go
