MANTECH is seeking a motivated, career-driven, and customer-focused Systems Engineer to join our team in Laurel, MD.

You will play a critical role in supporting the enterprise infrastructure capabilities for a global, mission-focused workforce. This position supports the high-visibility Enterprise Infrastructure Services (EIS) organization, responsible for the delivery and security of MPO's Enterprise Information Technology (EIT), the foundation for enterprise-wide services. As a Systems Engineer, you will work alongside customers, Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), and vendors to support the implementation and compliance of advanced EIT capabilities through Data Center & Compute Services.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Daily troubleshooting of Linux, Windows, Red Hat 6, 7, 8, and 9 Operating Systems
  • Providing Ubuntu support
  • Oversee cross-platform virtual machine lifecycles across Linux hypervisor environments (possibly Windows), optimizing resource allocation and compute capacity.
  • Maintain and manage various versions of OpenStack across multi-region deployments
  • Troubleshoot issues across Agency GOTS OpenStack platforms
  • Write and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Ansible and Puppet
  • May include developing end-to-end Python and Bash scripts to automate daily operational tasks, reduce manual toil, and streamline system provisioning workflows
  • Manage YUM repos (GOTS repository management)
  • Utilize Naemon and Grafana diagnostic tooling to execute systemic performance analysis and proactively address health degraded states.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in systems engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline with 14 years of relevant experience as a Systems Engineer OR 19 years of Systems Engineering experience with no degree.
  • IAT II certification (DoD 8140 required upon start of employment.  Acceptable certifications include: CCNA-Security/CySA+/GICSP/GSEC/Security+ CE/CND/SSCP)
  • OpenStack experience
  • Linux experience to include Red Hat 6, 7, 8, and 9
  • Experience with Grafana and Naemon
  • Hypervisor Virtual Machine, Ansible and Puppet experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MachineShop experience
  • Python development language
  • Understanding of Return-to-Service (RTS) protocols
  • Familiarity with Pagent and Putty
  • Bash scripting

Clearance Requirements:

  • Must possess and maintain a current/active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph
     

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
  • Occasionally moves about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
  • Frequently communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, including delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations

The projected compensation range for this position is $128,000.00-$214,400.00.
