Vantor is currently seeking a Mid-Level Software Engineer to support ourFALCONeffort. This role can be performed remotely within the continental United States.

As a Vantor team member, you will have the opportunity to closely support our mission partners, and your work will have a direct impact on building mission-focused software capabilities that support operational awareness, data-driven analysis, and timely decision-making. In this role, you will work closely with software engineers, data scientists, analysts, and customer stakeholders to build, enhance, and sustain applications and data pipelines that help transform complex data into actionable insight.

Responsibilities:

Contributing to the continued research, development, and sustainment of mission-focused software applications, backend services, APIs, data processing workflows, and analytical capabilities.

You will support data scientists and mission partners by creating and/or refining software applications, maintaining and enhancing existing custom applications, troubleshooting defects, improving performance, contributing to code reviews and technical documentation, and helping deliver reliable capabilities in an agile,remote-first environment.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be a US citizen.

  • Current Top Secret security clearance and/orCBP/DHSsuitability.

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, software engineering or a related field (4 additional years of experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree. A master's degree may count as an additional 2 years of experience.).

  • 4+ years demonstrated professional experience with programming, design, and/or development.

  • Professional experience with oneor morestrongly-typed programming languagessuch as Java, Rust, or similar.

  • Professional experience with one or morescriptingprogramming languages such as Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, or similar.

  • Working knowledge of agile software development practices and tools, such as Jira, Confluence, and git.

  • Must be willing to work in a remote setting or nearby Vantor facility and comfortable communicating via video calls.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with backend development using Java andRust.

  • Experience developing and maintaining low-latency, streaming, or event-driven data processing technologies and paradigms (e.g. Apache Flink and/or Apache Kafka).

  • Full-stack development experiencewithmodern front-endJavaScriptbasedframeworks, particularlyReact,Next,Leaflet,Map Libre, and Redux.

  • API REST framework development and maintenance experience.

  • Exposure to building and supporting solutions in acloud environment(AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, OpenStack, etc.).

  • Experience with containerized deployments (e.g. Kubernetes, Docker).

  • Experience with CI/CD tools and workflows (e.g. Jenkins,ArgoCD, Harness, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions).

  • Experience with SQL database development, schema design, query optimization, or data modeling (e.g. PostgreSQL, Apache Iceberg, or similar technologies).

  • Experience supporting research and development projects; developing production capable systems from a greenfield and receptive customer.

The base pay for this position within Colorado is: $105,000.00 - $140,000.00 - $154,000.00 annually. The base pay for this position within New Jersey is: $105,000.00 - $140,000.00 - $154,000.00 annually. The base pay for this position within Delaware is: $105,000.00 - $140,000.00 - $154,000.00 annually. The base pay for this position within the Washington, DC metropolitan area is: $116,000.00 - $154,000.00 - $169,400.00 annually.
