Openstack Consulting information

Is OpenStack still in use?

OpenStack is still actively used in cloud computing environments for building and managing private and public clouds. Many organizations rely on OpenStack for its open-source flexibility, and skills in OpenStack are valuable for roles involving cloud infrastructure, virtualization, and DevOps. However, its popularity has declined compared to newer cloud platforms like AWS and Azure.

Openstack Consulting involves advising clients on deploying and managing OpenStack cloud solutions, often in a consulting or project-based setting. Cloud Engineers focus on designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud infrastructure, including OpenStack, within organizations. While both roles require cloud and Linux skills, Openstack Consulting emphasizes client interaction and project management, whereas Cloud Engineers concentrate on technical deployment and maintenance.

Is AWS using OpenStack?

AWS (Amazon Web Services) does not use OpenStack as its cloud platform; instead, it has developed its own proprietary infrastructure. OpenStack is an open-source cloud computing platform often used by organizations seeking customizable private or public clouds, but AWS operates independently of OpenStack technology. For OpenStack consulting roles, familiarity with open-source cloud tools and infrastructure management is valuable, but AWS-specific skills are also highly relevant.
