Job description

We are actively recruiting across North Carolina, with an immediate focus in the Murphy, NC area and surrounding counties and states to include Upstate South Carolina, Northeast Georgia, and Eastern Tennessee; to serve in Permanency Planning.

As a member of the Intensive Support Social Work Team (ISSWT), you will engage in direct child welfare practice, to include:

  • Completing backlog assessment cases
  • Conducting assessment initiations
  • Supporting Family In-Home Services and Permanency Planning through visits, case planning, and related activities
  • Participating in after-hours and weekend on-call rotations
  • Ensuring practice aligns with federal and state law, policy, and best practices
  • Partnering with counties to carry cases (anticipated expansion in 2026)

Required Competencies & Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a North Carolina CPS Social Worker or Supervisor
  • Forensic training preferred
  • Deep knowledge of NC child welfare policy, practice standards, CQI processes, and family engagement
  • Strong technology skills and ability to work independently while representing company values
  • Demonstrated ability to:
    • Manage personal and organizational change with flexibility and emotional regulation
    • Support others through change
    • Adapt to evolving county needs
  • Willingness to travel across North Carolina and maintain flexible work hours
  • Must meet Investigative Assessment Treatment Social Worker requirements
