Join a high-performing engineering team delivering innovative software solutions that support critical national security missions. As an Expert Software Developer, you will provide technical leadership across the full software development lifecycle, designing and implementing scalable enterprise applications, cloud-native solutions, and modern web-based systems. You will work closely with engineers, architects, and stakeholders to transform complex requirements into robust software capabilities while helping guide development best practices and mentoring less-experienced team members.

This role is ideal for a seasoned software engineer who enjoys solving challenging technical problems, driving architectural decisions, and contributing to the development of mission-critical applications in a collaborative Agile environment.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain enterprise software applications and web-based solutions.
  • Provide engineering and programming support for mission and infrastructure-related projects.
  • Lead software design efforts and contribute throughout all phases of the software development lifecycle.
  • Analyze user and business requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
  • Design application architectures, workflows, models, and technical diagrams to support development efforts.
  • Develop and customize software applications to improve operational efficiency and mission effectiveness.
  • Support database design, integration, and development activities.
  • Develop and maintain websites and web applications, including deployment and sustainment activities.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of software development experience.
  • Extensive experience developing enterprise applications and web-based software solutions.
  • Strong experience with Java application development.
  • Experience developing front-end applications using Angular.
  • Experience designing and developing web services and APIs.
  • Experience working in Agile/SCRUM environments and supporting Lean Agile methodologies.
  • Experience with source control and CI/CD tools including Git and Jenkins.
  • Experience with continuous integration, automated testing, DevOps practices, and software quality assurance.
  • Familiarity with Linux operating environments.
  • Experience translating formal and informal requirements into scalable software solutions.
  • Experience working with database connectivity technologies including JDBC, ODBC, or similar database interfaces.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within geographically dispersed teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience developing and implementing microservices architectures, including micro front-end solutions.
  • Experience designing and deploying solutions within AWS cloud environments.
  • Experience building and supporting automated CI/CD pipelines.

The salary range for this position is $151,323.00 to $205,577.00. The proposed range is intended as a general guideline. Final compensation will be determined based on qualifications, experience, location, and contractual considerations and may fall outside of the stated range.
