Events Marketing Manager

Rerun

Job description

Rerun is building the data layer for physical AI. Robots, drones, and self-driving cars all run on physical data: multimodal, multi-rate sensor streams tied to time, space, and embodiment. Data infrastructure built for web and business data breaks down under that load.
Rerun's open source SDK has become a default way robotics teams visualize, log, and query this kind of data. On top of that open source foundation, Rerun is now building Rerun Hub, a commercial data catalog and storage engine, currently in private preview, that extends the same tools to the scale of object storage. The strategy mirrors the open source to commercial platform playbook of Confluent, MongoDB, and Elastic, except Rerun is building the category as well as the company.
Some of the most ambitious teams building physical AI already build on Rerun's open source tools, including teams at Meta, Google, Hugging Face, and Unitree.
The Role
Physical AI is being built by a community of robotics engineers, ML researchers, and builders scattered across a handful of hubs and a lot of Discord servers and meetups. That community doesn't have a heartbeat yet, and that's this role.
You'll bring creative thinking to where and how this community shows up: which cities and labs are actually building physical AI, what kind of events and programs get them in a room together, and how to give this community real content and social touch points, not just another meetup series. It's part field marketing, part developer evangelism, built for someone who wants to design and run that program rather than inherit one.
What you'll work on
  • Map the physical AI landscape: the cities, labs, companies, and communities where the people building this space actually are.
  • Design and run developer events, physical and virtual, from small meet ups and hack nights to a presence at larger industry conferences.
  • Build recurring programs that give the community real content and social touch points, not one-off events that go nowhere.
  • Partner with engineering and the founding team on the technical content that makes these events worth showing up to.
  • Represent Rerun in the robotics and physical AI community, at conferences, meet ups, and with key open source contributors.
  • Coordinate closely with the founding team in Sweden to start, then partner with Rerun's VP of Marketing in SF once that role is filled.
We'd love it if you have
  • 3-7 years in field or community marketing, with real depth in event planning, physical and virtual.
  • Experience marketing to or building community for a technical audience at a B2B tech startup.
  • You've personally organised meet ups, hackathons, workshops, dinners, or conferences; not just supported someone else running them.
  • You've built something recurring, a series or a programme, rather than only one-off events.
  • Experience working closely with founders or engineering teams, and ideally with developer or open source communities.
  • Real hospitality instincts and taste. You notice when an event is curated and when it isn't.
  • Comfortable travelling up to 40% of the time.
  • Genuine curiosity about robotics and physical AI.
How we work at Rerun
  • This role is based in the Bay Area, hybrid, with 3 days a week in our SF office.
  • We're a remote company headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden, with a growing hub in San Francisco.
  • We meet up in person for a week roughly once a quarter.
  • We're spread across European and US time zones. Rather than one fixed window, each team keeps a few hours of daily overlap that fits where its members are, and every role posting says what that looks like.
  • We've put together an uncommonly talented tech team, value agency and helpfulness highly, and expect everyone to take broad responsibility for what they build.
  • We offer competitive cash and equity compensation, six weeks paid vacation, and whatever hardware and software you need to do your job.
  • Parental leave: 12 weeks full pay for every parent, alongside your local statutory leave entitlements.
