Job description

A leading aggregate mining organization is seeking an experienced Plant Foreman to provide leadership for night shift operations at multiple quarry locations. This role is responsible for overseeing pit and plant activities, including extraction, crushing, conveying, and stockpiling of aggregate materials. The Foreman ensures safe, efficient, and compliant operations while leading production, maintenance, and special projects. This position also plays a key role in maintaining equipment reliability, operational standards, and a clean, safe work environment.


Schedule:

4:00 PM – 4:00 AM, Monday–Thursday


Essential Functions

1. Team Leadership (50%)

  • Provide daily leadership, supervision, and direction to pit and plant associates
  • Supervise and execute production, maintenance, and project objectives
  • Ensure quality control programs and all applicable regulatory standards are met
  • Maintain site appearance and operational aesthetics standards
  • Proactively promote safe operations and regulatory compliance
  • Represent the organization professionally with neighbors, customers, and regulatory inspectors
  • Serve as backup to the Plant Manager as needed


2. Technical & Operational Excellence (30%)

  • Collaborate with Mine Planning and Engineering teams to drive continuous improvement and operational efficiency
  • Represent the site by participating in special committees and cross-functional projects
  • Support the development of direct reports through training, coaching, and succession planning
  • Ensure plant and mobile equipment are serviced, maintained, and repaired to company standards



3. Business Acumen & Administration (20%)

  • Track and record production data using current software systems
  • Maintain training, safety, and regulatory documentation
  • Manage and facilitate timekeeping and workforce scheduling systems
  • Coordinate with vendors and inventory specialists to support maintenance and operational needs
  • Provide input into annual budgeting and monthly forecast updates


Minimum Requirements


Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred


Experience

  • Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience in:
  • Quarry operations, or
  • Heavy construction or similar industrial environment


Licenses & Certifications

  • DMME Foreman Certification, Certified Competent Person, or the ability to obtain certification


Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Work performed in an active quarry environment
  • Exposure to noise, dust, heavy equipment, and outdoor weather conditions
  • Ability to work extended overnight shifts
