Job purpose


The Videographer is an integral member of the Just Hoop, Inc. Team and is responsible for creating dynamic video features for in-game use, digital, sales and corporate marketing. The role works closely with Marketing and Communications and other team members in the production of video compelling content across the club’s platforms.


Duties and responsibilities

Overall responsibility: 

  • Serve as an ambassador of JustHoop demonstrating our mission and values in a positive and professional manner and acting as a role model of the JustHoop Brand.
  • Takes live fast-action photos at outdoor and indoor sporting events; photographs individual athletes, game/stadium action, fans, practices, and community events.
  • Shoots and edits videos at outdoor and indoor sporting events; videos individual athletes, game/stadium action, fans, practices, and community events; may create motion graphics.
  • Edits video and sound to produce game highlights and promotional material.
  • Uploads photos and videos for easy retrieval; maintains a consistent digital asset management system.
  • Provides fast turnaround of images for web, social media, and news media requests.
  • Assist with generating content on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook.
  • Disseminates videos and photographs to media or other third parties as directed.
  • Travels to various games, camps and events to capture shots and video footage.
  • May assist other event personnel in the set-up, operation, and clean-up of event venues as needed


Qualifications

  • Knowledge/Interest in sports or specifically, basketball
  • Display a high level of competency in all areas of video production, including lighting, sound, motion graphics, color correction, and publishing.
  • Proven ability to be detail oriented, meet deadlines and communicate quickly and clearly with colleagues.
  • Highly organized and able to handle multiple projects at a time with tight deadlines.
  • Passion for engaging audiences, working with others, storytelling, outside the box thinking and pushing the creative boundaries of sports video content.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Media Production, Film, Photography, TV (or currently in school). 
  • Preferred: minimum of 2-3 years of video editing and shooting experience


Working conditions


This position requires regular evening and weekend availability. Work is primarily performed on a basketball court with appropriate climate controls. Travel, early morning, evening, and weekend work is required.


Physical requirements

Essential functions of this position require: lifting, manual dexterity, large motor skills, ability to communicate.

Be able to stand and walk the court without difficulty for an extended period of time. 

Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body; involves sitting only occasionally, walking and standing are required regularly, incumbents may be required to kneel, crouch/squat, crawl, climb, stoop, turn/twist, balance, reach, or handle

Mental Application: Utilizes memory for details, verbal instructions, emotional stability, critical thinking, adaptability and creative problem solving skills are important.
