As an online writing tutor, you assist students with writing assignments and developing their writing skills. You participate in video calls, read work provided through a virtual platform, and review writing for spelling, grammar, logical consistency, and adherence to any provided rubric. You may also help guide students to additional resources. Some aspects of this job vary by employer or platform; for example, some tutors work exclusively with college-level students while others provide personalized care to students with special needs or who learned English as a second language. Tutor Me Education was started by a group of ivy-league graduates who recognized a surplus of struggling students who had the potential to succeed but were not properly motivated. The team set out to lend a hand between their own academic schedules by offering free one-on-one tutoring and test-preparation.
