Job description

Instructional Designer 
Location: Indianapolis, IN 46204 (Remote with onsite presence approximately 4 days per month)
Duration: 12 Months +
Interview Type: In-Person Only
Pay Ratee $$/hr on 1099 
Position Overview
The Communications Specialist will support the development and delivery of communication and training initiatives for the Indiana Child Support Bureau and local Title IV-D staff across the state. This role is responsible for creating training materials, facilitating webinars, supporting classroom training sessions, and ensuring clear, effective communication with stakeholders and end users.
Key Responsibilities
Create, edit, and maintain training guides and documentation developed from subject matter expert (SME) content.
Draft, edit, and distribute communications to stakeholders and end users.
Assist in the development of training programs and materials for systems of record.
Facilitate webinars by monitoring participant engagement, sharing resources, and troubleshooting access issues.
Support classroom training sessions, including assisting adult learners and coordinating equipment setup and testing.
Manage training registrations and related administrative activities.
Monitor shared mailboxes and respond to stakeholder inquiries in a timely manner.
Conduct independent research and collaborate with SMEs to build subject matter expertise for assigned projects and training curricula.
 
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or higher.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent grammar, editing, and technical writing abilities.
Experience creating and editing training materials.
Experience facilitating webinars and virtual training sessions.
Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook, SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
Experience using Atlassian Jira, Confluence, and Service Management tools.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Ability to quickly learn new information and work independently.
Strong problem-solving and research capabilities.
