Job description

Purpose:         Perform all tasks involved in the production of JBC Technologies, Inc. products. This includes laminating, slitting, die-cutting and assembly work with various materials including foams, rubbers, metals, graphite, cork-fibers, and fiberglass.  Follow standard work methods and practice safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Sets-up and operate any shop machine in accordance with established procedures and guidelines
  • Reads and interprets blueprints, drawings, Job Orders, routers and diagrams to select dies, position, and secure machinery
  • Adheres to operating procedures/instructions
  • Adjusts machine settings to complete tasks per specification to run job orders accurately and maximize productivity
  • Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to supervisors
  • Maintain a clean and safe work station; follow shop 5S system
  • Embrace a team attitude that aligns with JBC’s Core Values
  • Accurately record labor and material usage in ERP system
  • Follow all JBC policies and procedures
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by management

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent
  • 0-2 years of experience in a manufacturing/shipping environment
  • Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, expectations, and procedures in manufacturing

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to read and perform basic math skills including counting
  • Ability to use various tools including tape measure, dial caliper, and other hand tools
  • Must have a good command of the English language, both written and spoken
  • Basic reading skills for understanding drawings, Job Orders, and specs
  • Able to follow directions
  • Strong manual dexterity

Physical Demands:

  • Light to moderate physical effort required on a constant basis
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Required to sit, stand, bend, reach and move about the facility for an entire shift

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Protective equipment not required but available for nuisance dust
  • Protective equipment, such as gloves, required for specific tasks

Work Schedule:

  • Normal Schedule –
    • 1st Shift - Monday through Thursday, 6AM - 4PM
    • 2nd Shift – Monday through Thursday, 4PM - 2AM
  • Overtime scheduled as needed and may be mandatory on Fridays and Saturdays

Work Environment:

  • Work performed in a plant/production environment
  • Contains any number of elements including but not limited to fiberglass/insulation material, dust, fumes, and noise.
  • Must be able to work as part of a team or independently with limited supervision
