Job description

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES

The purpose of this position is to design, develop and support applications utilizing Python, MS Access, .NET, SQL or appropriate development/reporting tools based on agency need. Design and develop custom applications or reports utilizing the appropriate tools and conducting necessary analysis to achieve desired outputs. Performs related work as directed.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Work with end customers to define requirements to meet specific objectives.
  • Analyze requirements to determine various options to meet end objectives.
  • Develop applications, reports and online data collection and reporting tools using SaaS including PowerApps, Python, Smartsheet, and the Microsoft Office 365 Platform (including PowerBI) to fulfill defined requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively with end customers, and other IT staff.
  • Support internal and external Salesforce customers.
  • Assist the IT Manager and various departments to research, specify, and implement various software systems in support of CRT Departments.
  • Maintain application/report requests and necessary documentation.
  • Provide primary and secondary support and training for report writing tools (Tableau, Crystal Reports, PowerBI, and Salesforce reporting).
  • Use proper safety techniques and comply with all organization safety procedures.

ADDITIONAL JOB FUNTIONS

  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Education: Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology or related field required.  Experience may be substituted for education.

Experience: Three or more years of experience working with major database platforms such as SQL, Oracle or DB2 required. Experience working in the .NET environment with the various .NET tools such as: Visual Basic.NET, ASP.NET and developing Web applications. Experience working with Python, Tableau or Crystal reports. Experience with Salesforce platform beneficial.
