Job Title: Communications Coordinator
Reports to: Chief Operating Officer
Job Summary: The Communications Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of comprehensive communication strategies to enhance the organization's presence and engagement with the community. This role collaborates with the Communications Team and various departments to ensure cohesive messaging and branding across all platforms. The Communications Coordinator manages digital and traditional media, supports internal and external communications initiatives, and plays a key role in fundraising and marketing activities. This position is full-time and may require travel for off-site events.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Marketing - 50% of time
- Oversee and support the creation of bilingual content and manage the organization's digital communications through social media, website, and mailing list outlets.
- Analyze SEO and insights to strategize effective content creation and outreach.
- Supervise the design of marketing materials, both digital and printed, for promoting events, programs, and intellectual property.
- Maintains and coordinates the branding of La Casita Center, ensures consistent branding and "voice" of the organization in community outreach and marketing efforts.
- In collaboration with the Communications Team, develop and implement communication strategies to raise awareness and call to action.
- Collaborate with additional teams and coworkers to build capacity in communications and outreach.
- Monitor news and trends related to the organization's work and recommend engagement strategies related to the Latinx and immigrant community.
- Design the monthly newsletter, bulletins and press releases.
- Oversees and supports the creation of presentations used by La Casita Center during training sessions and orientations.
Programing - 25% of time
- Coordinates all of La Casita's online programming, working with program coordinator to develop the programming and working with the communications team for the programming creation.
- Schedule and follow up with the online programing guests and participants supported by the Communications Team
- Support the other departments in the creation of campaign, digital content, scripts, mini-series or visual content for consulting campaigns and projects
- Work in collaboration with all of the programs to develop appropriate visual materials, swag, videos, graphic pieces or any other item used by the program.
Fundraising - 5% of time
- Manages projects related to fundraising efforts and campaigns
- Facilitates the fundraising-communications meetings as needed
- Works with the communications team to create fundraising materials and campaigns.
- Supports with the development of the annual La Casita Documentary used during fundraising events and presentations.
Administrative - 15% of time
- Reports to the Chief Operating Officer the monthly performances of the social media channels, communication projects and analytics.
- Build and maintain partnerships with community local media to uplift the organization's mission and work.
- Oversees campaigns contracted through media, spanish media, to ensure the campaign is being implemented appropriately and works with the business operations team to ensure that vendors are being paid.
- Oversee the maintenance of photos, videos, and intellectual property for archival records.
- Attend and represent the organization at relevant community, outreach and tabling events as needed.
- Supervise the Communications Team members
- Plan communications team presence and strategy for special events, ensuring proper documentation with photos and videos.
- Responsible for reviewing and approving timesheets for the communications team
Other Duties - 5% of time
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities Include:
- Commit to the agreements of the Latina Women's movement.
- Attend weekly staff meetings.
- Respond to messages in a timely manner during work hours.
- Report to the Business and Strategic Development Coordinator during scheduled check-ins.
- Maintain professional representation of the organization in physical and digital spaces.
- Assist with maintaining the organization's space and regular office hours.

- Knowledge of digital marketing tactics, such as SEO and email marketing.

Preferred Qualifications:
- One year of management experience
- Photo and video editing
- Illustrator and Photoshop skills
- Bilingual (English and Spanish)
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or experience in a related field
- At least three years of related experience is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Ability to work in a highly stressful environment.
