Job description

Your Role

As a CNC machinist/programmer, you will play a critical role and your results will significantly impact the company and industry. We are a small company with a small machine shop and we need someone who is a team player. You will be running parts from start to finish. This means cutting material, setting up the machines, programming the parts, fabricating them, and doing quality control. You will also review the parts design with our team.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have the following:

  • 4+ years of CNC machine operating and programming experience
  • GED required, trade school certificate a plus or equivalent experience
  • In-depth knowledge of the operation on both 3 and 5-axis mills; lathe experience is a plus
  • Ability to hold close dimensional tolerances, down to few micrometers
  • Experience in creating custom fixturing
  • Ability to interpret parts three dimensional models in Solidworks with a high geometrical dimensional accuracy
  • Capable of producing conforming parts to specification within the required time frame while maintaining all quality standards
  • Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Ability to lift 50lbs

We are most interested in candidates who also have the following:

  • A passion and aptitude for learning, along with a great work ethic
  • Experience in prototype machining
  • Programming using Mastercam
  • Heidenhain TNC 7 controller (used on KERN) experience
  • Experience with Haas high spindle speed machines
  • Ability to program and operate both mills and lathes
  • Interest in their professional growth

There are currently two Haas CM-1 mills and one KERN Micro Vario in our shop. We use an older Bridgeport lathe and a mill too.
