Position Summary

The Painter / Powder Coater is responsible for preparing, coating, and finishing metal products using liquid paint and/or powder coating processes. This role ensures that all products meet company quality standards and customer specifications while maintaining a safe and organized work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare surfaces for painting or powder coating including sanding, cleaning, and masking
  • Set up and operate spray guns, powder coating equipment, and curing ovens
  • Mix, match, and apply paint or powder coatings according to product requirements
  • Inspect parts for defects before and after coating; perform necessary touch-ups
  • Monitor coating thickness, adhesion, and overall finish quality
  • Properly hang and remove parts from coating racks and conveyor systems
  • Maintain equipment, tools, and workstations to ensure safety and efficiency
  • Follow production schedules and meet established timelines
  • Adhere to all company safety policies, quality control standards, and manufacturing procedures
  • Assist with general shop duties as needed

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 1โ€“2 years industrial painting or powder-coating experience preferred
  • Knowledge of coating equipment, curing processes, and surface preparation techniques
  • Ability to read job orders, drawings, and quality requirements
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
  • Capable of frequently lifting/moving up to 50 lbs. and standing for extended periods
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
